Reclaimed bowling alley wood

This is USED bowling alley wood and it is available in various sizes and designs. These pieces were once the main part of the bowling lane at your local bowling alley. The sections are made of beautiful thick maple wood. Maple is $per linear foot, Pine (heart pine) is $per linear foot. You pick up and haul it away.


It is eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, and rich with history. Each piece has an interesting story to tell from a past life of use. One special type of reclaimed lumber is bowling alley lanes. For the tabletop, Büro went with a reclaimed section of bowling alley.


It features the dark walnut arrows, or rangefinders, and a unique finger joint transition from maple to pine wood. Although we’ve moved the wood to our facility in Northern Indiana, the remaining bowling alley flooring sections are for sale at a rate of $ per linear foot (pine) and $per linear foot (maple). A bowling alley lane is typically around inches thick, just under feet long, and measures inches wide.

There is approximately feet of maple wood and feet of old growth pine. When the lanes are installed in the bowling alley they are built in place. The builders lay down long strips of maple and side nail them to the adjacent maple pieces. How to make a bowling lane table? Entire lane is maple (hard rock maple I believe) sections are 10’ x41” x2. Most bowling lanes are no longer made from wood , but on an older lane, the beginning of the lane is made from hard Maple (where the ball will land), while the middle and end section is made from pine. I have always liked the look and hardness of Maple, so I chose that section making sure some of the tell-tale lane dots were in the piece. But, for that size, that is a fairly decent price.
